Fushigi Yuugi

Fushigi Yuugi has a winning formula - lotsa good-looking characters with interesting personalities, and healthy doses of chivalry, romance, humour and angst etc. Some parts were so touching that that they could make me cry. All in all, a very good anime that got me hooked. However, I'm unlikely to re-watch the entire series because it's too emotionally draining. X|
My fave characters are Nuriko and Tasuki for their courage and devotion to their Suzaku no Miko. ^^
Like most Studio Pierrot shows, the animation quality is really good. You can tell by the detailing, crisp lines and vivid colours of the cels. This may be the reason why the prices are so high... >_<
